Exploring Music, Technology, and Collaboration
Sasha Ishov’s research investigates the intersections of sound, technology, and pedagogy. His work explores the role of technology as both a mediator and collaborator in musical collaborations, investigating how social and technological structures shape communication within performance and education settings.
Through research projects such as PrismaSonus and collaborative electroacoustic works, Sasha examines how interdisciplinary approaches to technology, technique, notation, and listening reshape performer-composer relationships. He has written about this work in his dissertation, “PrismaSonus: Bridging Acoustic and Digital Worlds in Flute Practice and Performer-Composer Collaboration.”
Driven to create dynamic and inclusive music theory classroom, Sasha explores hardware and software tools to make learning environments more flexible, dynamic, and personalized. Follow his blog for thoughts on performance, research, teaching, and more.
